Mais brings over 14 years of experience in the humanitarian and development sector, with a strong passion for community empowerment and sustainable impact. She holds a Master’s degree in Disaster Management and Sustainable Development from the UK and a background in English Literature from the University of Aleppo. Mais worked with several international NGOs such as International Medical Corps (IMC) and Save the Children for the Syria response, the Danish Refugee Council for the Turkey response, and SEED Foundation for the Iraq response. After gaining this diverse experience, she joined SARD—a deliberate choice that reflects her deep belief in the importance of localization and the power of locally-led solutions.

She is committed to creating meaningful change by building on the strengths and resilience of local communities.
